** Shares of water heater maker A.O.Smith AOS fall 3% to $66.45 premarket

** A.O.Smith cuts its upper end of full-year profit forecast, as slowing economic growth in China weakened regional demand for its water heaters

** Co now expects adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $3.70 to $3.85, compared with its prior forecast of $3.70 to $3.90

** AOS quarterly revenue increased 4% from a year earlier to $942.5 mln

     ** Co posts Q3 net income of $132 mln, or 94 cents/share, compared with $120.1 mln, or 82 cents/share, a year earlier

** Analysts on an average had expected 94 cents, according to data compiled by LSEG

** As of last close, shares were up 0.6% YTD
