EUROPE BEFORE THE BELL: STEADY ENOUGH
Euro STOXX 50 futures are creeping higher on Thursday, helped by a pullback in oil prices even as the U.S. and Iran traded missile attacks in the Middle East.
Futures on the blue-chip index are up 0.3%. Elsewhere, DAX futures FDXc1 are flat, while CAC futures FCEc1 are up a touch. FTSE futures FFIc1 are underperforming, mimicking the national team's outing at the World Cup a day before.
Earnings season is now kicking into gear, with both Publicis PUBP.PA and Experian EXPN.L reporting, two companies that some investors believe could be threatened by advancements in AI.
There are also a couple of big deals this morning. Uber launched a public takeover offer for Delivery Hero, valuing the German food company at around $14.8 billion.
Meanwhile, British companies remain in the crosshairs of international buyers, with Swiss engineering group ABB ABBN.S agreeing to buy Britain's Rotork ROR.L in a $5.5 billion deal.
