Jefferies says Telstra's new plans sharpen pricing but leave Aussie Broadband's edge intact

** Shares of internet providers Aussie Broadband ABB.AX and Telstra TLS.AX slip 2.9% and 0.7%, respectively

** Jefferies says TLS' new internet-only plans are more competitive than its previous bundled offers but remain above ABB's rates

** Brokerage attributes this move to the country's top telco's shift to a new tech stack, which allows it to unbundle modems and phone lines from its plans

** Jefferies also doubts if the plans will meaningfully alter the trend of incumbents losing share to challengers, citing ABB's perceived service edge and pricing advantage

** YTD, ABB and TLS are up 40% and 21.8%, respectively
