US DOJ closes criminal probe into Abbott over baby formula plant, WSJ reports June 28 (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department closed a criminal probe into Abbott Laboratories ABT.N over how it managed a baby formula facility where potentially deadly bacteria were discovered and suspected of causing infant deaths, and instead opted for civil penalties, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.
