DL Invest Group Statement on ASLI Governance and Wind-Down
Following the Annual General Meeting of abrdn European Logistics Income plc ("ASLI"), DL Invest Group, a significant shareholder of the Company, wishes to express its position regarding the execution of ASLI's wind-down strategy.
While we support the principle of the wind-down, which reflects the decision of shareholders, we have serious concerns regarding its implementation. In particular, we note repeated delays against previously communicated timelines, limited transparency surrounding asset disposals, insufficient disclosure of transaction details, and a lack of comprehensive reporting on the relationship between acquisition costs, market values and disposal prices.
We are also concerned that the Company's management structure and cost base have remained largely unchanged despite the advanced stage of the wind-down process. In our view, greater efforts should be made to reduce costs and maximise value returned to shareholders.
Furthermore, we believe shareholders deserve a clearer explanation of the asset disposal process, a detailed timetable for the remaining stages of the wind-down, and greater transparency regarding measures being taken to optimise costs and preserve shareholder value.
Accordingly, we expect the Board and the Manager to provide enhanced disclosure and demonstrate how the Company intends to maximise distributions to shareholders while maintaining appropriate standards of governance, accountability and transparency.
DL Invest Group will continue to monitor developments closely and reserves all rights available to it as a shareholder to protect shareholder interests.
