ABVC BioPharma up as Thai ethics committee allows eye device trial

** Shares of drug developer ABVC BioPharma Inc  ABVC.O  jump
6% to 8 cents before the bell
    ** ABVC says a hospital in Thailand received permission from
an ethics committee to conduct a mid-stage trial for the
company's experimental eye device 
    ** Another hospital in the country had previously received
similar approval and company says both hospitals expect to
receive a license from regulators for the study within the next

    ** Company is also working to start a trial for the device
in Australia
    ** Up to Wednesday's close, stock down ~78% YTD
