U.S. stock indexes tumbled on Thursday, with growth shares bearing the brunt of
the selloff, after the Federal Reserve's largest rate increase since 1994 to
combat decades-high inflation fanned worries of a recession.  .N 
    
    At 11:42 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 2.47% at
29,910.48. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 2.84% at 3,682.52 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 3.91% at 10,664.662.
