Belgian financial company Belfius to set up new base in Lisbon with Accenture

May 22 (Reuters) - Belgian financial services company Belfius announced on Friday plans for a new technology and operations hub in Lisbon, along with Accenture ACN.N.

The new Lisbon hub will be initially set up as a joint venture with Accenture.

Over the course of the next three to five years, this Lisbon hub will be 100% owned by Belfius.

The Lisbon hub is expected to eventually employ around 500 people.

In recent years, Lisbon has attracted increasing numbers of international, 'digital nomad' style workers often involved in finance and tech.
