The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq jumped to record highs on Wednesday after softer
inflation data lifted hopes for a rate cut by the Federal Reserve, while Apple
overtook Microsoft as the world's most valuable company.  .N 
    
    At 11:32 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.33% at
38,873.59. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 1.15% at 5,437.26 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 1.85% at 17,663.665.
