POLITICS
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will push fellow G7
finance officials next week to agree to a plan to bring forward
the interest earnings on frozen Russian assets to provide more
money to Ukraine quickly, a senior U.S. Treasury official said
on Friday.
COMPANIES
UNICREDIT CRDI.MI
A Russian court ordered that 462.7 million euros ($502.77
million) of UniCredit's assets, accounts, property and shares in
subsidiary companies be seized as part of a lawsuit involving
the Italian bank, according to court documents.
UniCredit is preparing an appeal against the Russian court's
move, Il Messaggero reported on Sunday.
Italy's foreign minister and officials will meet on Monday
to discuss Russia's recent action to seize assets or impose
restrictive measures on Italian companies including UniCredit,
sources with knowledge of the matter said.
Eurozone lenders with operations in Russia will have to
present an action plan for their assets in the country by June,
the Financial Times reported during the weekend.
UniCredit is set to pick former Eurovita's special
administrator Alessandro Santoliquido to lead the bank's
insurance business, Milano Finanza reported over the weekend.
CEO Andrea Orcel has recently indicated that the lender intends
to internalise its life insurance business.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
Italian fiscal police seized more than 130 Fiat cars
imported from Morocco this week on the grounds that a sticker
with the colours of the Italian flag on their doors could give a
false indication of their origin, a spokesman for Stellantis in
Italy said on Saturday.
ITALGAS IG.MI
The group has submitted a preliminary offer of over 5
billion euros for rival 2i Rete Gas, Milano Finanza reported
over the weekend, adding that Italga's investor CDP Reti could
devote 1 billion euro to support the acquisition.
ACEA ACE.MI
Italian utility ACEA said on Sunday it had submitted an
offer for the concession to build and operate Rome's
waste-to-energy plant.
JUVENTUS JUVE.MI
The Italian Serie A club sacked coach Massimiliano Allegri
over his behaviour during and after this week's Coppa Italia
final in which he was sent off, Juventus said on Friday.
Paolo Montero will take charge of Serie A side Juventus for
the remainder of the season, the club said on Sunday following
the dismissal of Massimiliano Allegri.
