Steelmaker Acerinox posts strong beat for second-quarter profit July 24 (Reuters) - Spanish steelmaker Acerinox ACX.MC reported a higher-than-expected second-quarter profit on Friday, boosted by a strong performance in the U.S. market and a recovery in Europe.
The stainless steel producer reported core earnings of €176 million ($200 million) for the quarter, up from €112 million a year ago. Analysts polled by LSEG had expected them to rise to €154 million on average.
