** Says a review of preclinical studies suggests that drugs
with a mechanism similar to ADXN's candidate, ADX71441, could
offer a new treatment option for patients with severe alcohol

** ADX71441, in particular, demonstrated efficacy on several
alcohol-related behaviors in rat models, says company
** Treatment potently decreased binge-like drinking, reduced
relapse-like drinking and dose-dependently reduced alcohol

** ADX71441 stimulates responses of gamma-aminobutyric acid
B (GABAB), an inhibitory neurotransmitter with stress-reducing
and calming effects
