Corrects consensus figure in paragraph 1 to 117 million euros, not 177 million euros
Feb 11 (Reuters) - Recruitment group Randstad RAND.AS reported a net income of 90 million euros ($107 million) for the final quarter of 2025 on Wednesday, below the 117 million euros analysts polled by the company were expecting.
Recruiters like Randstad and Adecco ADEN.S have found themselves in a tight spot as artificial intelligence upends labour markets and slow economic growth in their key regions hampers hiring. Their shares too have slid to pre-pandemic levels.
Revenue reached 5.82 billion euros in the fourth quarter, a drop of 4% on the year, but in line with expectations.
Revenue in the North American region, which represents roughly a fifth of the group total, increased by 1%, whilst proceeds from important regions such as Germany and the Netherlands dropped 10% and 7%, respectively.
Operating expenses dropped 10% compared to last year. Randstad CEO Sander van't Noordende had previously flagged that with revenue stagnating, the company would have to cut costs and increase productivity to boost profits.
