    POLITICS
    Italy's next government will direct its efforts to trying to
tame soaring energy prices, Giorgia Meloni, who is widely
expected to be named prime minister, said on Saturday.

    Italy will be able to get through the winter with existing
gas storage and flow levels unless there are "catastrophic
events", the country's energy minister said on Sunday.

will continue to contract for the following two quarters,

    Italy's largest insurer has held informal deal talks with
Guggenheim Partners on a range of options including a full
acquisition of the U.S. investment firm's asset management
business, Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing sources.
    A source close to the matter told Reuters that for a deal of
this size Generali may need to divest a core asset like its
private bank Banca Generali. According to Bloomberg, Generali

    Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on Friday
authorising the Italian utility to sell a controlling stake in
its Russian entity to Lukoil  LKOH.MM  and the

    Italy's top telecoms tower firm said on Friday that its
General Manager Giovanni Ferigo and the company had mutually

    Domus, an investee company of property firm Hines, asset
manager Apollo  APO.N  and VI-BA, said on Friday it had signed
two separate deals to acquire a 54.9% stake in the real estate
