MILAN, March 2 (Reuters) - Aeffe AEF.MI, the ailing fashion group that owns the Alberta Ferretti, Moschino and Pollini brands, is looking to select a potential buyer by the end of May, Italy's industry ministry said on Monday.
* The ministry said the latest meeting on Aeffe's situation had taken place on Monday, after the company entered a negotiated crisis resolution procedure and launched a collective layoff process.
* Aeffe informed the meeting it had received a number of preliminary expressions of interest and more could be expected in the coming weeks.
* The non-binding proposals have come from qualified Italian and foreign parties with proven sector expertise, it said, adding it would prioritise offers that preserve the company's entire production site.
* The ministry reiterated that it stood ready to use all available tools to support the relaunch of the group, based in central Italy, with a view to protecting occupation.
* The next meeting is scheduled for April 28.
