AGL buys gas turbines for proposed Western Australia project

Oct 31 (Reuters) - Australia's top power producer AGL AGL.AX said on Friday it has signed deals to secure new turbines worth A$185 million ($120.21 million) to support the expansion of its Kwinana gas power plant.

AGL has purchased four new gas turbines from Siemens AB.

The proposed expansion of the existing Kwinana Swift power station in Western Australia includes an additional dual-fuel power station of 250 megawatts (MW).

The project is intended to operate as a gas-fired peaking power station, supplying electricity to the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) network, according to its website.
