Canada launches loan program to help airlines deal with high fuel prices OTTAWA, June 8 (Reuters) - The Canadian government is launching a new loan program to help domestic airlines deal with high fuel prices and maintain operations and jobs, the finance ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The loan program will offer eligible airlines up to C$150 million ($107.5 million) in repayable liquidity support, it said, adding that carriers taking advantage of the program would have to restrict executive compensation and maintain their Canadian operations.
