    Italy reported 81,367 COVID-19 related cases on Wednesday,
against 101,864 the day before, the health ministry said, while

    Italy's second-biggest bank is set to sell 2 billion euros
($2.3 billion) in impaired debts to bad loan firm Prelios after
halting a process to hire a manager for the portfolio, three

    TELECOM ITALIA (TIM)  TLIT.MI 
    State-backed lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which owns
10% of TIM, currently has a value of 82 euro cents on its books
for each of its shares in the phone group and would therefore be
reluctant to accept KKR's 50.5 cent per share offer, Bloomberg
reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
    Brazil's antitrust regulator Cade on Wednesday approved with
remedies the sale of Oi SA  OIBR3.SA  mobile operations to
rivals TIM Participacoes SA  TIMS3.SA , Telefonica Brasil SA
 VIVT4.SA  and Claro, a subsidiary of Mexico's America Movil

    French telecoms group Iliad has offered more than 11 billion
euros ($12.57 billion) to buy Vodafone's  VOD.L  Italian
business, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday,
confirming an earlier report by the Financial Times.

    Rothschild, the Italian energy service group's adviser, is
negotiating with Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit a bridge loan of
500 million euros, Il Messaggero reported on Thursday. The
Italian daily said the two banks are ready to grant the loan if
Saipem's two leading investors, energy group Eni and state
lender CDP, commit to cover at least 1 billion euros in a future
capital increase.

    The U.S. government has asked to meet Eni, TotalEnergies
 TTEF.PA  and other energy companies operating in Algeria to see
if more gas can be sourced from the country, sources familiar

    Italian energy group Eni said it had signed a total of 19
agreements with companies to capture and store their carbon
emissions as part of its HyNet North West project in the UK.

    Italy's biggest regional utility would like to acquire a
majority stake in renewable energy firm Alerion Clean Power, but
is not interested in a minority holding, its chief executive
said. In a statement later on Wednesday, the company said it was
only interested in investing in majority stakes that would allow
a consolidation of its core profit, but no dossier was open on

2021 targets after posting a net profit of 100.6 million euros,
