Alfa Financial Software surges on report of takeover talk

** Shares in Alfa Financial Software surged to a more than
11-week high after 0914 GMT following a Betaville report that
said the London-listed asset finance software company is at the
centre of a renewed round of takeover talk
    ** At 0946 GMT shares were up 7.8% at 180 pence each, their
highest since July 7.
    ** Alfa did not immediately reply to a Reuters email seeking
comment
    **  Shares in Alfa plunged 24.6% on July 7 after investment
firm EQT confirmed it did not intend to make a buyout offer for
the company
