U.S. stock indexes fell on Wednesday as uncertainty around the outcome of a
tightly contested midterm election weighed on the mood, with investor focus
shifting to Thursday's inflation data for clues on the path of future interest
rate hikes.  .N 
    At 10:51 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.83% at
32,884.46. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.88% at 3,794.46 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 1.14% at 10,495.153.
