Revises up 2025 revenue, core earnings outlook for group and Poland
Plans to speed up parcel locker deployment by 1,000 this year
Adds bullets, detail on delivery costs in paragraphs 7-9, GMV abroad in last paragraph
Sept 18 (Reuters) - Poland's largest e-commerce company Allegro ALEP.WA on Thursday revised its 2025 revenue and core earnings outlook higher after reporting a rise in second-quarter earnings.
Allegro has the biggest chunk of e-commerce in Poland but in recent years has been facing growing competition from international players such as Temu.
It has also sought to build up its logistics muscle as it tackles rising cost of delivery under its loyalty programme.
The company has been gradually hiking the share of delivery bill for the loyalty programme footed by merchants, the so-called co-financing rate. It made the latest such hike in March.
That helped to drive a 14.2% increase in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) at home to 1.04 billion zlotys ($288.20 million), versus 1.02 billion seen in company-compiled consensus.
Allegro also said it would accelerate the roll out of its own parcel lockers by 1,000 to hit 8,000 this year.
Its delivery costs as a percentage of gross merchandise value (GMV) declined in Poland to 5% from 5.1% in the first quarter, though were still up 23% year-on-year.
The share of delivery volumes managed within Allegro's own service rose to 34% compared to 29% in the previous quarter.
Allegro now expects its adjusted EBITDA to rise by 10-12% in Poland this year from a 8-12% range it estimated in March, while revenue is expected to rise 16-18% compared to previous guidance for a 14-17% increase.
Its high-margin Supermarket, Health and Beauty categories helped to drive a 9.8% increase in gross merchandise value (GMV) to 16.54 billion zlotys in Poland, in line with a market estimate of 16.51 billion.
Shoppers in Allegro's markets abroad including the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, engage more with the platforms, with GMV rising 61%, Allegro said.
