The S&P 500 index hit a record high on Wednesday after comments from the Federal
Reserve fueled hopes the central bank would stick to its accommodative monetary
policy despite a sharp jump in inflation last month. .N 
    At 10:34 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.24% at
34,971.96. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.29% at 4,381.81 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.40% at 14,736.659.
