Australia's Alligator Energy gains on Northern Italy deal progress

** Shares of Alligator Energy Ltd  AGE.AX  climb as much as
18.1% to A$0.108 - stock to mark best session since Feb. 25, if
gains hold
    ** The uranium explorer says it has fulfilled conditions to
acquire 100% interest in the exploration licences at Piedmont

    ** Says received confirmation of renewal of the Laghetto
Exploration Licence, which was conditional to the acquisition
    ** Adds parties have agreed to a 30-day extension until May
for finalising the deal
    ** More than 61.9 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of about 44 mln shares
    ** Stock had risen 65.5% this year, as of last close
