Almirall shares rise as lower costs beat EBITDA estimates
BUZZ-Almirall shares rise as lower costs beat EBITDA estimates ** Shares in Spanish pharmaceutical company Almirall ALM.MC rise over 3% after it released H1 results on Friday, with EBITDA up 23.7% year-on-year to €150.7 million ($171.65 million)
** Jefferies and Renta 4 say lower costs drove a beat in EBITDA, but the equity swap contribution caused net profit to miss its estimates
** Jefferies notes first-half sales met estimates albeit key products fell behind with a "notable deceleration" in Q2 Ebyglyss, an eczema inflammation treatment, partly due to German wholesaler order delays
** Renta 4 adds Amirall posted "good operational progress and cost control" in the second quarter beyond positive one-offs
** Kempen adds growth was driven by European dermatology and biologics portfolio, with pipeline development continuing across five dermatologic diseases
** The stock pares earlier gains of up to 8.1% but remains on track for its best session since August 2025, having fallen 12.7% year-to-date up to the previous market close
