Australia's ALS rises on positive half-yearly results

** Shares of ALS Ltd  ALQ.AX  rise as much as 7.12% to
A$11.44, their highest level since Oct 12
    ** Stock set for its best day since May 2021, if gains hold 
    ** The Australian professional technical services provider
reports half-yearly underlying continuing revenue of A$1,285 mln
($819.32 mln), up 7.4% YoY
    ** Says half-yearly underlying continuing NPAT of A$158 mln,
above the top-end of outlook range by 2.2%
    ** ALS stock down 12.7% this year, as of last close
