U.S. stocks were set to open subdued on the final day of an upbeat year which
has seen the benchmark S&P 500 rally close to a record peak due to growing
expectations the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates early next year.  .N 
    
    At 9:03 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were down 0.03% at 38,017. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were down 0.06% at 4,829.5, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were down
0.02% at 17,086.75.
