The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq rose on Thursday on support from growth and
semiconductor stocks, while investors awaited the Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole
conference for clues on its policy outlook. .N 

    At 12:04 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.04% at
32,982.89. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.51% at 4,161.82 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.70% at 12,518.265.
