Ameriprise Financial gains after posting higher Q2 profit

** Shares of Ameriprise Financial  AMP.N  rise ~3% to
$436.72 in morning trading
    ** AMP after market on Wednesday reported an increase in Q2
profit as rising client asset values boosted the financial
adviser's fee-based income
    ** Co's assets under management and administration came in
at $1.43 trillion in the quarter, a 12% jump from a year earlier
    ** Adjusted operating earnings in Q2 climbed to $8.53 per
share vs $7.44 per share a year earlier
    ** Including session moves, stock up ~15% YTD
