April 28 (Reuters) - Industrial tools maker Ametek AME.N is in exclusive talks to buy segments of valve-and-pump maker Indicor, which is owned by private equity firm CD&R, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
A deal for Indicor’s testing and measurement businesses would value them at around $5 billion, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
The companies could agree to a deal in the coming weeks, but the talks could still fall apart, the report added.
CD&R and Ametek did not immediately respond to Reuters' requests for comment.
