** U.S.-listed shares of biotech firm Zai Lab ZLAB.O rise 3.2% to $19.41 premarket
** Co says it will run a global early-stage study with Amgen AMGN.O to test a new drug combination for advanced small cell lung cancer, an aggressive form of lung cancer
** Study will evaluate Zai Lab's experimental drug zocilurtatug pelitecan with Amgen's Imdelltra, an already approved treatment in the U.S., in patients whose disease worsened after chemotherapy - ZLAB
** Co says Amgen will sponsor and lead the trial, while Zai Lab will supply its drug and keep full ownership
** Zai Lab says earlier studies showed its drug worked well, including against cancer spread to the brain, with manageable side effects
** Zai Lab says its drug has U.S. FDA orphan drug and fast track status
** Shares of Amgen up marginally premarket
** As of last close, ZLAB stock up ~7% & AMGN up ~8% YTD
