Amneal rises as US FDA approves pretreatment for nerve agent poisoning

** Shares of U.S. drug developer Amneal Pharmaceuticals
 AMRX.O  rise 1% to $8.64   
    ** Co says the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has
approved its drug as a pretreatment against lethal effects of
soman nerve agent poisoning in adults
    ** Soman is a toxic and rapidly acting human-made chemical
warfare agent classified as a nerve agent
    ** The drug, Pyridostigmine Bromide Extended-Release
tablets, was developed using Amneal's proprietary drug delivery
technology for the U.S. Armed Services and U.S. allies -AMRX
    ** The drug offers steady 24-hour release, avoiding the need
for service members to self-administer three times a day -AMRX
    ** The project was funded in part by the U.S. government
