Ams OSRAM shares jump on a Q4 beat

** Shares in ams OSRAM AMS.S jump 6.6% after the Austrian semiconductor supplier and sensor maker posted its quarterly results above expectations

**  Ams posts Q4 revenue of 874 million euros  ($1.04 billion), down 1% from 882 million euros last year, but above analysts' forecast of 847.5 million euros in a poll by Vara Research

** Vontobel says that the company's Q4 was ahead of expectations, due to a stronger lamps business while the semiconductor business was in line

** Jefferies also says OSRAM's Q4 revenue was 4% above its forecast

** The stock tops of Switzerland's mid-cap index .SMIM
