** Shares of chip maker Analog Devices ADI.O rise 3% to $229 in premarket trading

** ADI expects adjusted Q3 profit per share to be $1.92 +/- 10 cents, above estimates of $1.83

** Q3 revenue forecast to be $2.75 billion +/- $100 million, above estimates of $2.62 billion - as per data compiled by LSEG

** Co posts Q2 revenue of $2.64 billion, beating analysts' estimate of $2.51 billion

** "Second quarter bookings accelerated across all end markets and all regions, resulting in continued sequential backlog growth," CFO Richard Puccio said

** YTD, stock had risen 4.6% up to last close
