Corporate America continues job cuts in 2026 in efficiency push (updated)

March 16 (Reuters) - The start of the year has seen massive layoffs across U.S. companies as they streamline operations amid rising adoption of artificial intelligence tools.

Snap SNAP.N said on Wednesday it would
lay off
 about 1,000 employees, including 16% of its full-time staff, weeks after activist investor Irenic Capital Management pushed the Snapchat parent to optimize its portfolio and improve performance.
