Factbox: Corporate America continues job cuts in 2026 in efficiency push

Jan 28 (Reuters) - Less than 30 days into 2026, U.S. companies across sectors have announced layoffs as they cut costs and simplify operations in the backdrop of rising adoption of artificial intelligence tools.

On Wednesday, tech giant Amazon AMZN.O became the latest, cutting 16,000 roles worldwide in the second major round of job cuts at the company in three months.
