** Shares of drugmaker ANI Pharmaceuticals ANIP.O rise 2% to $80 premarket

** Co says it launched a generic version of Carbatrol, a drug used to treat epilepsy, a seizure disorder that affects the brain

** Product is Carbamazepine extended‑release capsules, available in 100 mg, 200 mg and 300 mg doses, co says

** Says U.S. annual sales of the branded drug are about $65 mln, citing IQVIA data

** Adds launch supports ANI’s strategy to expand its generics portfolio and improve access to essential medicines

** As of last close, stock down ~1% YTD
