Applovin shares hit record high after MS hikes PT

** Shares of Applovin APP.O hit a record high on Mon after Morgan Stanley analysts hiked their price target for the marketing platform

** APP rose 6% to $709, on track for the biggest daily pct gain since Sept. 8

** APP is set to launch its self-serve tool for non-gaming on Oct. 1, which is expected to boost its ad business and prove that it can generate revenue outside the gaming industry, MS analysts led by Matthew Cost wrote in an investor note

** "Over the past year as APP has scaled its non-gaming ads pilot, it has relied primarily on manual onboarding for new clients, which has limited the customer base to just 600-700 advertisers," Cost wrote. "In our view, this self-serve launch creates the opportunity for the customer base to multiply going forward."

** MS raised APP's PT to $750 from $480, reiterating its "overweight" rating

** Among 26 analysts that cover APP, avg rating is "BUY" and median PT is $615, per LSEG data

** APP is up 118.9% YTD vs NASDAQ Composite Index's .IXIC 17% increase
