** Shares of data center operator Applied Digital APLD.O up 2.5% at $35.92 premarket

** Co announces it has broken ground on Delta Forge 1, an AI factory campus located in a southern U.S. state

** "Initial operations at Delta Forge 1 are expected to commence in mid-2027," co says

** APLD adds, Delta Forge 1 is designed to support an initial 430 MW of total utility power, enabling up to 300 MW of critical IT load, with capacity to scale further in 2028 and beyond

** APLD shares more than tripled in 2025
