Appointments to the International Advisory Council
APQ Global (the Company) the emerging markets growth company, is delighted to announce two appointments to its International Advisory Council (IAC). The IAC assists in locating the best investment opportunities across the globe. The panel of advisors contribute insights from their own areas of geographical and sector expertise to support APQ Global's business strategy. The two appointments announced today are detailed below:
Jared Carney
Jared joins APQ Global's IAC as an international expert in private investment, with over 25 years' experience. Jared is the Founder and CEO of Lightdale LLC, a global holding and strategic advisory firm which he founded in 2012. The firm assists sophisticated investors, family offices, large pools of capital, corporations and governments interested in producing generous returns but also enacting and nourishing meaningful social change. 
Prior to founding Lightdale, Jared served as Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at the Milken Institute where for almost 10 years, working closely with the Chairman, he led the company's Global Conference, the world's largest gathering of the capital markets. During his time in this post Jared was also critical in exponentially increasing the Institute's programmatic and revenue growth as it became the world's leading pre-eminent financial think tank.
Jared is currently on the board of directors of Brandenburg Realty, and is a Senior Advisor to RMR Industrials, Inc., Houlihan Lokey, and McKinley Capital. 
He has strong social responsibilities; currently advising on the Board of Advisors of the Arctic Circle, in addition to founding the California Fund, co-founding of the Arctic Maritime Exchange, and a senior advisor to a group of governments as well as the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
Udayan Gupta
Udayan joins the IAC, with immediate effect, having spent over thirty years as a commentator on venture capital, entrepreneurship and private equity in the United States. 
As a professor in venture capital and entrepreneur at New York's Fordham University, Udayan has been a consultant and advisor to major international private equity and equity funds; venture capital and absolute return managers. In this role, he has worked with small and entrepreneurial businesses, business groups and organizations to help them understand their financial information needs and develop financial and investor profiles. 
Former Senior Special Writer for the Wall Street Journal, Udayan is the author of "Done Deals: Venture Capitalists Tell Their Stories" published by the Harvard Business School Press, 2000 and a number of other books, including "The First Venture Capitalist: Georges Doriot on Leadership, Capital and Business Organization," "Mind into Matter: Arch Transforms Science into Sustainable Enterprise," and "A Natural Way of Business: How Frank Rainieri, Theodore Kheel, Oscar De La Renta and Julio Iglesias Transformed an Island Economy." He is currently working on a biography of Joseph M. Cohen, the managing partner of Cowen & Co. until it was sold to Socit Gnrale in 1998.
A graduate of Harvard College, Udayan is a Walter Bagehot Fellow in Business and Economics Journalism at Columbia University, New York.
