The Dow touched a record high on Friday as this year's lagging stocks gained
favor on optimism that the U.S. Federal Reserve will begin easing monetary
policy in September, while big lenders fell after reporting mixed results.  .N 
    
    At 13:32 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 1.08% at
40,184.93. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 1.09% at 5,645.28 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 1.25% at 18,511.589.
