Canada's Aris Mining to acquire Colombia venture for $80 million; shares rise

** Shares of Canadian miner Aris Mining ARIS.TO up 2.1% at C$17.03

** Co says it will acquire remaining 49% interest in Soto Norte joint venture in Colombia from MDC Industry Holding Company, valued at US$80 million

** Deal includes termination at closing of associated precious metals stream previously granted to Mubadala, co adds

** Aris Mining first acquired 20% interest in Soto Norte in April 2022 and subsequently increased its ownership to 51% through acquisition of additional 31% interest in June 2024

** Transaction is expected to close by early December

** Including session's moves, ARIS up 238.3% YTD
