The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq edged higher on Wednesday, buoyed by a new round of corporate earnings, while lingering hopes that the Federal Reserve will cut rates kept markets alive. .N

At 11:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 0.33% at 44,259.01.The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.66% at 6,341.03, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 0.82% at 21,087.54.
