Wall Street's main indexes rose on the first day of the fourth quarter on
Thursday as investors bet in favor of more fiscal stimulus after data showed the
pace of a domestic economic rebound was slowing. .N 
    At 12:36 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.40% at
27,893.64. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.44% at 3,377.82 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.85% at 11,262.442.
