("Ascent" or the "Company")

Directors / PDMR Shareholdings

Ascent Resources Plc (LON: AST) the onshore Caribbean, Hispanic American and
European energy and natural resources company, announces that the following
share purchases were made today by Executive directors:

 James Parsons, the Company's Executive Chairman, has purchased through his
SIPP a total of 158,953 ordinary shares in the Company (80,108 ordinary shares
at a price of 3.74p per share and 78,845 ordinary shares at a price of 3.7999p
per share).

Following the acquisition Mr Parsons is now interested in 500,900 ordinary
shares in the Company, representing 0.46 percent of the Company's issued
ordinary share capital.

Andrew Dennan, the Company's Chief Executive Officer, has purchased a total of
240,000 ordinary shares in the Company (190,000 ordinary shares at a price of
3.749474p per share and 50,000 ordinary shares at a price of 3.8p per share).

Following the acquisition Mr Dennan is now interested in 2,140,000 ordinary
shares in the Company, representing 1.96 percent of the Company's issued
ordinary share capital
