China's Ascletis jumps after positive data on drug against Omicron

** Shares of biotech group Ascletis Pharma Inc  1672.HK 
jump 13.5% to HK$4.88, the biggest daily percentage gain since
Jan. 19
    ** Stock hit the highest since Jan. 24, and on track for the
second session of gains
    ** Zhejiang, China-based company announces positive data
from a study of oral double prodrug ASC10 and its antiviral
nucleoside analog ASC10-A against Omicron variant  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nFWN2UH0AC
    ** Says the submission of investigational drug applications
for clinical trials in China, the U.S. and other countries may
be sooner than the company expected, and it has filed multiple
patent applications for ASC10 and its use globally
    ** Hang Seng Commerce & Industry Index  .HSNC  drops 3.2%
and and healthcare index  .HSCIH  plunges 7.8%
    ** Hang Seng Composite Index  .HSCI  falls 1.4% and the
benchmark Hang Seng Index  .HSI  is down 1.5%
    ** Stock had soared 30.7% so far in 2022 as of last close
