Aseana Properties Limited (LSE: ASPL), a property developer in Malaysia and Vietnam listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, announces that Mohammed Azlan Hashim has served a notice of resignation as independent non-executive director and chairman of Aseana. In order to enable and facilitate an orderly transition and restructuring of the Board, his resignation will take effect from 31 May 2019. Mohammed Azlan Hashim has been a director and chairman of the Company for the past 12 years.
 
The Board would like to take this opportunity to express its gratitude to Mohammed Azlan Hashim for his contribution to the Company during his tenure as director and chairman. Following the resignation of Mohammed Azlan Hashim, Gerald Ong will assume the role of the chairman of Aseana with effect from 1 June 2019.
 
As announced on 30 April 2019, Aseana will be looking to add two independent directors to strengthen the capability and capacity of the Board to lead the divestment activities of Aseana and to enhance governance oversight.
