U.S. stocks tumbled on Thursday, setting the S&P 500 up for its worst first six
months since 1970, on concerns that central banks determined to tame inflation
will hamper global economic growth.  .N 
    At 12:01 p.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.71% at
30,808.15. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.84% at 3,786.91 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.79% at 11,089.349.
