Astrid Intelligence PLC
("Astrid" or the "Company")
Acquisition and Launch of Astrid Validator
Astrid Intelligence PLC (AQSE: ASTR) is pleased to announce the acquisition
and integration of an existing validator within the Bittensor network, now
operating under the Astrid Validator brand.
What Is a Validator?
Bittensor is a decentralised AI network made up of various independent AI
start ups (called subnets) all focusing on different AI niches. Everything
from weather forecasting to inference to genome sequencing. For the network to
function properly, certain participants must verify results, score performance
and ensure that rules are followed.
These participants are known as validators. If Bittensor is akin to a
university, the subnet is a department, the Subnet Owner is the head of the
department that sets the challenges and exams, the Miners are the students the
solve and do the exams and the Validators are the teachers/examiners that mark
the results.
In simple terms, validators act like referees within the network. If the
network runs smoothly and the validator performs well, it earns
protocol-defined emissions in return.
Why This Matters for Astrid
By acquiring and operating its own validator, Astrid will likely be able to:
● increase its direct participation in the Bittensor network;
● strengthen its role in network governance; and
● earn emissions through active operation rather than passive holding.
Astrid intends to consolidate its TAO and subnet tokens under the Astrid
Validator to support operational efficiency and long-term network alignment.
Strategic Positioning
The launch of the Astrid Validator represents another step in the Company's
transition into an infrastructure-led operating business within decentralised
AI networks.
The Board believes that owning and operating core network infrastructure,
rather than simply holding digital assets, is fundamental to building a
sustainable and scalable business model in decentralised AI.
By operating a Validator, Astrid will be running specific code on the subnets
that it validates and therefore will have deeper access and insights to the
outputs of those subnets.
Further updates regarding validator activity and network participation will be
provided in due course.
