On Thursday at 0900, the Polish Statistical Office will release data on industrial output, PPI, employment and wages for December.

ENERGY PRICE FREEZE COSTS

The freezing of electricity and natural gas prices in the last three years cost the state budget 83.3 billion zlotys ($23.11 billion), according to calculations obtained by Rzeczpospolita daily.

JOB MARKET

Though nine out of ten working Poles believe they have the skills and experience to achieve professional success, their sense of career security is at its lowest in two years, mainly due to lower self-confidence in using new technologies, according ManpowerGroup survey data citied by Rzeczpospolita daily.

DIGITAL IDENTITY

One can talk about the effective introduction of age restrictions on access to social media once the European digital identity portal is implemented, deputy Digital Affairs Minister Dariusz Standerski told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily.

PENSION FUNDS

Last year, pension funds significantly increased their holdings in Polish shares, helped by the bull market on the domestic stock exchange, thanks to which they generated a record rate of return exceeding 42%, Parkiet daily reported.

REAL ESTATE

Apartment sales have rebounded, but laws and bureaucracy still block the market and industry consolidation is inevitable, developer Atal 1AT.WA chief executive Zbigniew Juroszek told Puls Biznesu daily.
