** Auckland International Airport AIA.NZ rises as much as 4.9% to NZ$7.82, highest since July 4

** Stock marks biggest intraday pct gain since December 9, 2024

** Airport operator says Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment not considering legislative changes to economic regulation of airport services under Part 4 of Commerce Act 1986

** Under the Act, New Zealand regulates airport services to ensure consumers are protected in markets where there's little or no competition

** Citi says legislative change, which essentially means further regulation will not be put in place, a short-term positive and reflected in share price reaction today

** AIA falls 10.8% YTD
